In 1858 Antonio Mattei set up a shop in the Italian city of Prato and began producing and selling his, now famous, “Biscotti di Prato”. The unique recipe for these typical almond-flavoured cookies gained immediate popularity and won prizes for their high standard of quality. The Pandolfi family who run the long established company of Antonio Mattei for three generations, continues to produce traditional “Biscotti di Prato” and takes pride in guaranteeing the high standards, flavour and fragrance of the original products. Hermann Hesse was known to be a fan of the original “Biscotti di Prado” with their delicate consistency and incomparable taste.
Years of experience and care plus the consistent use of the finest ingredients have won these hand made cookies their reputation as truly supreme baked goods.
