In 1931 Giuseppe Cipriani and his American friend Harry Pickinger, opened the legendary Harry's Bar, prominently located near St. Marks Square in Venice. In just a short time Harry’s Bar was celebrated amongst lovers of Italian cuisine and its reputation for fine dinning spread outside of Venice and Italy itself. Many famous names were to be found amongst their client list, including the author Ernest Hemingway who immortalized his favourite watering hole in numerous short stories and a full-length novel called ACROSS THE WATER AND INTO THE TREES. Some years later, Giuseppe’s son, Arrigo Cipriani, along with his wife, founded the Company Cipriani Industria, which today offers a large selection of Top-Quality-Products. Today, represented world wide in the best gourmet grocers, all products are produced in limited numbers to preserve their integrity as “fatta in casa” or “homemade”.
