Hampstead Tea
The Hampstead Tea Company has committed itself, since its founding in 1995, to fair-trade, alongside the production of high quality teas. On a visit to Makaibari, in the region of Darjeeling, overwhelmed by the lush and thriving landscape of the tea fields, which grew naturally, the idea was hatched to make these excellent bio dynamically grown teas available around the world.
The Hampstead Tea fields in Makaibari, Darjeeling’s oldest tea plantation, are surrounded by untouched rainforest where tea grows in harmony with the areas natural ecological system. The result of this fair and ethical collaboration between man and nature is an award winning, singular variety of organic teas, which are all Demeter and Fair-trade certified.
The Motivation does not lay in Hampstead’s desire for material gain, but in sharing the pleasure of this outstanding aromatic tea and in their passionate commitment to a fair-trade project to help the people of Makaibari.
